Cole Palmer has made Premier League history by becoming the most consistent penalty-taker in the league's history. The Chelsea star scored two penalties during a thrilling 4-3 win against Tottenham Hotspur, bringing his record to a perfect 12 goals from 12 attempts.

This achievement surpasses Yaya Toure's long-standing record of 11 penalties scored without a miss during his time at Manchester City. Reflecting on his milestone, Palmer said, “It’s a privilege to contribute to this team, and to break a record held by someone like Yaya Toure is surreal. But for me, it’s about staying focused and doing my job for Chelsea.”

Toure's record, unbroken since his Premier League debut in 2010, had been narrowly missed by Ivan Toney in 2023 when his 11th attempt was saved by Nick Pope.

Palmer's competitors for penalty perfection include Fulham's Raul Jimenez (8/8), Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo (7/7), and Nottingham Forest's Chris Wood (7/7). Former players like Dimitar Berbatov (9/9) and Ruben Neves (8/8) also stand out.

Beyond penalties, Palmer's overall contribution to Chelsea is remarkable. His two goals against Spurs brought his combined goals and assists to 50 in just 48 Premier League games. Only Erling Haaland (39 games), Andrew Cole (43 games), and Mohamed Salah (46 games) have reached this milestone faster.

Top Premier League Penalty Records (Minimum 10 Attempts)

1. Cole Palmer: 12/12 (100%)

2. Yaya Toure: 11/11 (100%)

3. Matt Le Tissier: 25/26 (96.2%)

4. Danny Murphy: 18/19 (94.7%)

While legends like Alan Shearer hold the record for the most penalty goals overall (56), players such as Juan Pablo Angel (50%) and Wayne Rooney (68%) struggled with consistency.

Palmer’s achievement sparks debates over whether he could be the Premier League’s best penalty-taker ever. For now, his perfect record sets him apart.
