The 46th US President, Joe Biden has tendered his resignation on Sunday, and will not contest his second term in the forthcoming presidential elections.
This was contained in a memo signed by him.
Biden, in his letter stated it is in the interest of his party and himself to focus on his remaining duties as president, and would not be contending in the next election, coming up in November.
However, he would address the nation later this week, highlighting the reasons for his decision.
