Bayer Leverkusen and Nigerian forward, Victor Boniface will miss Wednesday's Champions League match after a car accident on Sunday.
Boniface, 23, shared images of the damaged car and his injured arm on social media.
Leverkusen's sporting director, Simon Rolfes, confirmed Boniface escaped serious injury but is still recovering.
"He needs time to get over this," Rolfes said. "We're relieved nothing serious happened."
Boniface has scored seven goals in 10 games this season. Patrik Schick may replace him.
The accident occurred when Boniface's car collided with a truck on the autobahn.
