Barcelona has turned down Arsenal’s €90 million bid for Brazilian winger Raphinha, insisting they will only consider offers starting at €100 million.

The 27-year-old has been in excellent form this season, scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists in just 17 matches. His performances have solidified his place as a key player under manager Hansi Flick, who even made him captain.

Arsenal, which attempted to sign Raphinha from Leeds United in 2022 before his move to Barcelona, has renewed its interest. However, Barcelona is firm on their valuation, considering Raphinha crucial to their plans.

Reports from Spain suggest Barcelona could eventually sell Raphinha for a huge fee to fund other transfers, such as their long-term target Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao. For now, though, they are unwilling to part with their star winger.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s transfer strategy, which prioritizes younger or more affordable players, raises doubts about whether they will meet Barcelona’s asking price. Raphinha, who turns 28 next month, does not fully align with their usual targets.

The absence of a sporting director at Arsenal adds to the uncertainty. PSG’s Luis Campos is reportedly being considered for the role, but no decision has been made yet.

For now, Raphinha remains a vital part of Barcelona’s squad and a player they are reluctant to lose.
