Grammy-nominated Afrobeats sensation, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has revealed that she has never experienced love. In a recent interview with *Dazed Magazine*, the “Rush” singer shared her desire to experience love, despite being labeled a “lover girl.”
Featured on the cover of the magazine's latest issue, Ayra admitted that while she may be a romantic at heart, she has never been in a fully committed relationship. She explained, “I want to fall in love. I wrote ‘Lagos Love Story’ about what love would look like if I was in love. I’ve never been in love, though I’ve been in certain situations—just not a fully committed relationship.”
She added that her busy career, which began at 15 with modeling and university, has kept her from exploring love, but she enjoys the freedom of expressing herself: “I’m just enjoying myself as a girl… let me sing to a cute boy today because I can—why not?”
