Atalanta has acknowledged that they may soon lose their star player, Ademola Lookman, with head coach Gian Gasperini confirming Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in the forward.

Gasperini told La Gazzetta dello Sport that PSG had made inquiries about Lookman during the summer, but a deal could not be finalized even though personal terms were agreed upon.

In light of this, Atalanta is looking for a replacement for Lookman, who is also being pursued by Premier League clubs Chelsea and West Ham United. Reports suggest that the Serie A team hopes to receive around €60 million from Lookman’s sale and may invest that money in a younger player. Some potential replacements include Mario Retegui, Nico Gonzalez, Federico Chiesa, Denis Dragus, and Angel Gomes, currently playing for Lille.

Lookman joined Atalanta from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2022 and has been a standout performer, helping the team win the UEFA Europa League last season. He recently finished 14th in the Ballon d’Or rankings and attended the ceremony in Paris with his parents and youth coach.
