Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has attributed much of his success and evolution as a player to the tutelage of former manager Arsène Wenger.
While Henry emerged as one of the brightest students from the renowned French football academy Clairefontaine, he admits it was his time under Wenger that shaped his career.
In an interview with Le Parisien, Henry revealed, “He (Wenger) educated me about football and life. He made me see the game differently and think differently.
“After Arsène, I considered myself a football player who scored goals, not a scorer. There is a big nuance.”
Wenger first signed Henry during his time with AS Monaco and later brought him to the English Premier League when he took over as Arsenal’s manager.
