Movie producer Tony Abulu is set to premiere his new movie, American Japa, starring Toyin Abraham, Odunlade Adekola and Kanayo O. Kanayo.
Set to hit the cinemas on September 6, the plot revolves around the commercial sex workers and their dream to relocate to the United States for greener pastures.
“Japa” is a Yoruba word meaning “to run away”. It is the emigration of Nigerians, usually for economic opportunities.
Odunlade Adekola shared the film’s trailer in an Instagram post on Wednesday.
“Behold the star studded ‘American Japa’ film coming to cinemas on September 6, 2024,” he wrote.
“Premiering at Film House The Palms Mall on August 30.”
