Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado will be out for two months after suffering a knee injury in last weekend’s 4-2 win against Atletico Madrid.

The 21-year-old was forced off in the 67th minute and later withdrew from Spain’s Nations League squad. Barcelona confirmed that Casado has a partial tear in the lateral collateral ligament of his right knee and will undergo conservative treatment instead of surgery.

Casado has played 37 matches this season under coach Hansi Flick, helping Barcelona stay at the top of La Liga ahead of Real Madrid on goal difference.

Barcelona is also still in the race for a treble. Their Copa del Rey semi-final against Atletico Madrid is tied at 4-4, with the second leg coming up. Meanwhile, they will face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League quarter-finals next month.
