Nigerian comedian and activist, Adebowale “Debo” Adedayo, widely known as Mr. Macaroni, has reiterated his decision to avoid acknowledging Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in future encounters. This declaration follows previous instances where Mr. Macaroni was seen deliberately avoiding the governor at public events.

In a recent statement on X (formerly Twitter), Mr. Macaroni addressed criticisms regarding his behavior towards Governor Sanwo-Olu, stating:

“This is the last time I will address this matter. It is not worth my peace of mind. Since you people won’t stop attacking me because I didn’t greet Governor Sanwoolu, next time I see him, I still won’t greet him. And this time, even if he calls me I won’t answer. You people will cry today, tomorrow and forever!”

Mr. Macaroni’s strained relationship with the Lagos State government dates back to the #EndSARS protests, during which he was arrested and allegedly mistreated by the police. He has previously expressed that he cannot associate with a government that “stripped me naked, beat, tortured, brutalized, and dehumanized me.”

The comedian’s unwavering stance has sparked mixed reactions among the public, with some supporting his decision as a stand against perceived injustices, while others believe in the importance of maintaining civility despite past grievances.
