Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen and his wife, Daniela Jehle, have announced their separation after seven years of marriage.

The couple, who share two children, shared a joint statement on social media confirming their decision to part ways.

“After careful thought, Dani and I have decided to go our separate ways. It was not an easy choice, but we believe it is the best for us. Our focus remains on our children, ensuring they grow up in a loving and stable environment,” Ter Stegen wrote on Instagram.

Daniela, 35, also requested privacy during this difficult time, asking for understanding, especially for their children.

Ter Stegen, 32, and Daniela got married in 2017 in Sitges, near Barcelona. Their relationship had always seemed strong, making the news of their split surprising for fans.

The announcement comes at a tough time for the Barcelona captain, who has been sidelined since September due to a knee injury that required surgery. Despite the setback, he remains hopeful about returning to the pitch before the season ends.
