In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Wunmi, the widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has opened up about the alleged torment her husband faced from Marlian Records’ boss, Naira Marley, and his associate, Sam Larry. Mohbad, born Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, passed away in September 2023 under controversial circumstances, leading to widespread calls for justice.
Wunmi expressed deep concern over the impact of Mohbad’s troubled past on their son, Liam. She stated, “Naira Marley and Sam Larry cannot deny the fact that they made life unbearable for my husband. The videos online cannot be erased, and Liam will grow up to see them.” She fears that these distressing visuals might traumatize their son in the future.
Additionally, Wunmi highlighted a rift within the family, alleging that Mohbad’s father has been supportive of Naira Marley and Sam Larry, which she believes has impeded the pursuit of true justice. She remarked, “Mohbad’s dad has been on Naira Marley’s side. He is speaking for them and trying to save them.”
Despite ongoing legal proceedings and public pressure, Wunmi asserts that justice for her late husband remains elusive.
