Former Marlians Records signee, Lil Smart, has publicly withdrawn his previous accusations against his former label boss, Naira Marley. Initially, Lil Smart had alleged that Naira Marley and his associates were involved in his abduction and the theft of $300. However, in a recent interview with Muyiwa Adejobi, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police Force, Lil Smart clarified that these allegations were baseless. He stated, “Naira Marley never abducted me, and he didn’t steal my $300. I thought his boys acted on his behalf.”
This retraction comes after Lil Smart’s arrest on January 28, 2025, following a petition filed by Naira Marley. The arrest was in connection to the earlier allegations of cyberbullying, kidnapping, assault, and robbery that Lil Smart had leveled against the singer.
In a related development, Lil Smart’s mother has made a public plea for her son’s release, expressing her distress over his detention. She emphasized her status as a single mother and appealed to the public for assistance.
The unfolding events have elicited mixed reactions from the public, with some individuals expressing disappointment in Lil Smart’s initial false claims, while others sympathize with his current predicament.
