Italian club Juventus has joined the race to sign Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman from Atalanta as they aim to strengthen their attack ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Bianconeri have struggled in front of goal this season, scoring just 41 Serie A goals, and see the 27-year-old as a key target in their squad rebuild.

Lookman has been a standout performer for Atalanta since joining from RB Leipzig for €9.35 million in 2022. He played a crucial role in their Europa League victory last season and has recorded 43 goals and 23 assists in 96 appearances for the club.

His impressive displays have also attracted interest from top European clubs, including Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Arsenal. Atalanta previously turned down offers for the Nigerian international, but with only a year left on his contract, they may be forced to sell rather than risk losing him for free.

While Lookman is currently valued at €55 million, Atalanta could demand up to €70 million, given his contributions this season. He has scored eight goals and provided four assists in 12 Serie A matches and continues to shine in European competitions. He recently scored in Atalanta’s 3-2 UEFA Champions League loss to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu and has won three Man of the Match awards in the expanded UCL group stage.

The reigning African Footballer of the Year is currently recovering from a knee injury that sidelined him for two weeks after he damaged the lateral joint in his right knee during training.

Despite this setback, Lookman has been a key player for Atalanta, contributing 14 goals and six assists across all competitions. His club is in a fierce Serie A title race with Napoli and Inter Milan, making his future a crucial talking point ahead of the summer transfer window.
