Veteran on-air personality Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, widely known as Do2dtun, has announced his departure from radio after an impressive 20-year career.

In an emotional Instagram post, Do2dtun reflected on his journey, which began as an intern at Cool FM Lagos in 2004. He expressed gratitude to industry icons like the late Dan Foster, Olisa Adibua, and Daddy Freeze, who guided him early in his career.

Do2dtun’s time on the airwaves is marked by significant contributions to Nigeria’s music industry. He created popular radio shows such as Cool Nigerian Vibe, Superstar Wednesday, and Office Concert. These programs played a key role in shifting the focus from foreign music to promoting Nigerian artists and content, ensuring that local music received 70% airplay.

Sharing his thoughts on leaving radio, he said:
“This must be one of the hardest decisions I have made. I am fulfilled in my heart that I built a legacy. Oh my sweet home @coolfmlagos accepted me Nov 1st 2004 as an intern, dusty; unprepared & knew absolutely nothing about radio.”

He described his journey as a mix of challenges and triumphs, noting the invaluable support of his colleagues and mentors.

Do2dtun’s departure marks the end of an era for Cool FM and the Nigerian radio industry, where he left a lasting legacy as a pioneer who revamped the country’s airwaves.
