Omowunmi, the widow of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has accused her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, of delaying a DNA test intended to confirm the paternity of her son, Liam.

According to Omowunmi’s legal team, Salawu Akingbolu Chambers, Aloba has rejected the medical facilities she proposed for the test. While she objected to using the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, Aloba dismissed her choice of Lagoon Hospitals. In an effort to find a compromise, Omowunmi suggested alternative facilities—Eko Hospital and Reddington Hospital—but claims Aloba has not responded.

Omowunmi also alleges that Aloba has portrayed her son as a “bastard” on social media, further straining their relationship.

In response, Aloba’s former legal team, Hillceetee Partners, denied any misrepresentation on social media, clarifying that no statements had been made implying Omowunmi’s unwillingness to cooperate. They stated that the hospitals had yet to respond to inquiries about their readiness to conduct the test.

This dispute adds to the family’s challenges following Mohbad’s death, highlighting the ongoing tensions between Omowunmi and her father-in-law.
