Popular broadcaster and social commentator, Oriyomi Hamzat, made an emotional return to the public eye following his release on bail. In a scene filled with raw emotion, Hamzat struggled to contain his tears as he addressed a massive crowd gathered at Agidigbo FM, his workplace in Ibadan.

The crowd, made up of supporters and well-wishers, gathered along the Ojoo Expressway to welcome Hamzat back after his time in detention. Overwhelmed by the show of solidarity, Hamzat’s voice shook as he expressed gratitude to those who stood by him during his ordeal.

Hamzat, alongside Queen Naomi and Abdullahi Fasasi, had been detained in connection with the tragic Ibadan stampede, which claimed the lives of 35 children. The incident shocked the nation and led to widespread grief and outrage.

On Monday, January 13, the Oyo State High Court granted Hamzat and his co-defendants bail, setting it at ₦10 million each. The court's decision sparked reactions online, with many celebrating their release.

In a video from the emotional gathering, Hamzat’s pain and gratitude were palpable as he addressed the crowd. For many, the moment symbolized both his personal struggle and the lingering sorrow over the tragic event.

The Ibadan stampede remains a somber reminder of the lives lost and the need for justice for the victims.
