American actor and musician Jamie Foxx has shared details about the health crisis that led to his hospital admission in 2023.
In his new Netflix special, the 56-year-old revealed he suffered a brain bleed, which caused a stroke and left him unconscious for nearly three weeks.
Recalling the incident, Foxx said he felt a severe headache on April 11, 2023, and blacked out shortly after. He was taken to Piedmont Hospital, where doctors discovered the brain bleed.
“It is a mystery. We still don’t know exactly what exactly happened to me,” Foxx said.
Describing the moment it began, he added: “On April 11 2023, I had a bad headache and I asked my boy for an aspirin, but I realised quickly that your boys don’t know what to do when you are in a medical emergency.
“Before I could get the aspirin I went out. And I do not remember 20 days.”
Foxx said he woke up from the coma in a wheelchair and was unable to walk, marking the start of his recovery journey.
