Nigerian star Victor Osimhen has been named Africa’s most valuable striker, with fellow Nigerian Victor Boniface ranking second, according to Transfermarkt’s latest valuations.
Osimhen, who plays for Napoli in Italy, is valued at €75m, placing him as the joint-fifth most valuable striker worldwide alongside Julian Alvarez, Alexander Isak, and Kai Havertz. The 25-year-old has been in top form this season, scoring nine goals and providing six assists in 12 games across all competitions.
Boniface, who shines for Bayer Leverkusen in Germany, is valued at €45m, making him the 11th most valuable forward globally.
Osimhen and Boniface are the only African strikers in the top 20 most valuable forwards. Other Africans on the list include Senegal’s Nicolas Jackson, Egypt’s Omar Marmoush, and Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy, each valued at €40m and ranked 29th globally.
This shows the growing impact of African players, especially Nigerians, in European football.
