Barcelona ended their winless run in La Liga with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Mallorca on Tuesday, inspired by Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.
The win moves Barcelona to 37 points, four ahead of Real Madrid at the top of the table, although Madrid has two games in hand. Mallorca remains in sixth place, two points behind Athletic Bilbao in the final Champions League spot.
Ferran Torres opened the scoring for Barcelona, but Vedat Muriqi equalized for Mallorca before halftime. The second half belonged to Raphinha and Yamal, with the Brazilian scoring twice and goals from Frenkie de Jong and Pau Victor sealing the victory.
Teenager Yamal, returning from an ankle injury, was pivotal in the game, earning a penalty for Raphinha’s first goal and providing key assists. Barcelona had struggled in his absence, dropping points in two matches and losing to Las Palmas.
Mallorca’s defensive errors helped Barcelona, with Johan Mojica’s miscue gifting Torres the opening goal. Despite Mallorca's equalizer, Yamal’s speed and creativity gave Barcelona the upper hand in the second half.
Raphinha’s penalty and a late goal, combined with contributions from Victor and De Jong, ensured a convincing win for the Catalans. Yamal nearly added a goal himself, but Mallorca goalkeeper Leo Roman denied him in the final minutes.
