Anthony Joshua has predicted that Oleksandr Usyk will defeat Tyson Fury again in their rematch set for December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Joshua, who faced back-to-back losses against Usyk in 2021 and 2022, believes Fury cannot match the Ukrainian’s skill and discipline. Speaking to IFL TV, Joshua remarked, "I said Usyk will win. I said that from 2023. I do think Fury’s a good fighter, but there’s levels."
He also criticized Fury for previously underestimating Usyk, saying, "A cruiserweight nearly knocked Fury out. You’ve got to learn from these situations." Joshua emphasized that fighters should never downplay their opponents.
Fury, who suffered his first career loss to Usyk in May, is determined to redeem himself without leaving the decision to judges. However, Joshua doubts Fury's chances, stating, "I just don’t think he can do it. Fury maybe should give him the respect he deserves next time."
The rematch is expected to attract global attention as Usyk aims to solidify his dominance and Fury seeks redemption. For Joshua, the outcome could impact his career, with his promoter, Eddie Hearn, keen on arranging a long-awaited Fury fight regardless of the rematch result.
