Canadian stage actor, Julien Arnold has died while performing in A Christmas Carol at the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, Alberta.
The 60-year-old passed away on November 24 during an evening show. According to Alberta Health Services, paramedics tried to revive him at the theater but were unsuccessful.
The cause of his death has not been disclosed.
Punctuate Theatre, where Arnold’s wife Sheiny Satanove works as managing director, confirmed his passing in a statement. The Citadel Theatre also paid tribute, describing him as a talented performer and a beloved member of the Edmonton theater community.
“Julien’s passing is a profound loss to his family, friends, fellow cast members, and the entire Edmonton community,” the statement read.
Arnold had a decades-long career in theater, appearing in plays such as The Taming of the Shrew, The Wizard of Oz, Twelfth Night, and Sense and Sensibility.
A fundraiser has been launched to support his wife with funeral costs and other expenses.
Arnold grew up in Edmonton and studied at the University of Alberta. He is remembered for his charisma and passion for the arts.
