Ademola Lookman, Super Eagles forward, has been nominated for the Forward of the Year award at the Gran Galà del Calcio in Italy. This recognition follows his impressive performances for Atalanta last season, where he scored 17 goals and made 10 assists in all competitions.
The 27-year-old also shone in the UEFA Europa League final, scoring a hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen. Lookman’s contributions made him one of Europe’s top attackers in the latter half of the season, with 14 goal involvements (8 goals and 6 assists) from April onwards.
Currently, he is also in the running for the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award alongside stars like Achraf Hakimi and Simon Adingra.
Atalanta is also nominated for Serie A Club of the Year, and their coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, is in the running for Coach of the Year. The Gran Galà del Calcio winners will be announced on December 2nd, ahead of the CAF Awards in Morocco.
