Former heavyweight boxing champion Lennox Lewis has urged Anthony Joshua to take a break after his recent loss to IBF champion Daniel Dubois at Wembley in September.
Joshua was knocked down multiple times before a powerful right hand in Round 5 ended the match in front of 98,000 spectators.
Following his fourth career loss, some boxing analysts have questioned Joshua's future, but the former champion has pledged to continue fighting, with a rematch against Dubois possibly in the works for early next year. However, Dubois' promoter Frank Warren has confirmed that the champion’s next match will be on February 22 against an opponent yet to be named.
Lewis, reflecting on Joshua’s career and his 2017 win over Wladimir Klitschko, adviced Joshua to rest before making any comeback moves. Lewis praised Dubois for his skill and resilience, noting his impressive right hand and fearless attitude, which helped him dethrone Joshua.
With Dubois set to defend his title in February, Joshua's next steps might depend on the highly anticipated showdown between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
