In a recent candid moment with fans on TikTok, Regina Daniels opened up about her unconventional journey to marrying Nigerian politician Ned Nwoko. The Nollywood star revealed that, initially, her family, including her mother, Rita, was against the union. Yet, Daniels made it clear—she made her choice out of her own free will.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2019, now share two sons. Reflecting on the early days of her relationship with Nwoko, she set the record straight on the rumors, firmly dispelling notions that she was pressured into the marriage.
Daniels described her life before the commitment, claiming she had a colorful array of over 20 “boyfriends,” each with their own “purpose.” But all of that changed when she met Nwoko. “I was so angry I had to go sightseeing with everyone, but we got there, and I met a cute man,” she told fans. “Your boyfriend shouldn’t stop you from finding your husband. When I started with my husband, I forgot I was supposed to have a boyfriend.”
With an acting career that kicked off at age seven, thanks to her mother’s support in the movie Marriage of Sorrow, Daniels has grown into one of Nollywood's celebrated talents, earning accolades for roles in films like Plantain Girl, The Jericho, and Naked Sacrifice. Nwoko, meanwhile, serves as a senator representing Delta North, navigating the political sphere with a blend of influence and power.
