Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has announced that Anthony Joshua will face either Daniel Dubois or Tyson Fury in his next fight.
Last month, Joshua's bid to reclaim the heavyweight championship ended in defeat at Wembley Stadium, where Dubois knocked him down multiple times, eventually winning by a knockout in the fifth round.
Hearn said Joshua is in a good position despite the loss and confirmed that his next opponent will be either Dubois or Fury. "There’s no interest in a warm-up fight,” Hearn told BBC Sport.
While Dubois is a strong possibility, a fight with Fury is also on the table. Fury is scheduled to fight Oleksandr Usyk on December 21, following a previous loss to Usyk in May.
Joshua is eager to redeem himself, with the potential rematch against Dubois tentatively set for February 22, 2025. However, Dubois's promoter, Frank Warren, expressed doubts about Joshua’s readiness for that date, citing the need for early training. Warren said, "AJ wants revenge, but the timing is tight."
If Fury defeats Usyk, Hearn hinted that Joshua might pursue Fury instead, aiming for a major bout next summer for the heavyweight title.
