Ademola Lookman and William Troost-Ekong have been shortlisted for the 2023 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award.
They will compete against Morocco's Achraf Hakimi, Simon Adingra from Cote d’Ivoire, and Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy for Africa’s top football honor.
Lookman played a key role in Atalanta’s UEFA Europa League victory, scoring a hat-trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen. The 27-year-old also contributed to Nigeria’s campaign at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with three goals in seven matches.
Troost-Ekong was named the best player at the 2023 AFCON, scoring three goals and leading Nigeria to a second-place finish.
The CAF Awards will be held in Marrakech, Morocco, on December 16.
