In a surprising twist, popular media personality Toke Makinwa has firmly denied rumors of her marriage to entertainment mogul Farouk Umar, sparked by recent images and videos of the two at her 40th birthday Thanksgiving celebration in Lagos.
Dressed in matching white outfits and appearing cozy, the pair fueled speculation of a romantic relationship, but Toke quickly set the record straight. “On Obasanjo’s internet, they said I got married to this guy,” she clarified. “Farouk is my best friend—nothing more. He’s been there for me when no one else was.”
This denial comes in the wake of Toke’s tumultuous past; her first marriage to fitness trainer Maje Ayida ended in 2017 amid infidelity scandals.
