Galatasaray were left in awe by Victor Osimhen's stunning bicycle kick during Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Antalyaspor.
The Turkish champions described the goal as "more than a photograph, a work of art" in a post on their Instagram on Sunday.
The Nigeria striker's spectacular goal came in stoppage time, sealing the win in the Süper Lig Week 9 match at Corendon Airlines Park in Antalya. This followed Galatasaray’s crucial win in the Intercontinental Derby against Fenerbahce just two weeks ago, which eased the pressure on manager Okan Buruk. However, recent struggles, including a Europa League draw with Riga after leading 2-0, brought fresh questions about his tactics.
Without Osimhen, Galatasaray had drawn 2-2 in that Europa League clash, but they bounced back with a 1-0 win over Alanyaspor the previous Sunday, putting them in a strong position ahead of the international break.
Osimhen, on loan from Napoli since September, has quickly made an impact, scoring his third league goal of the season after recovering from a hamstring injury. He had earlier opened his account in a 3-3 draw with Kasimpasa. Galatasaray is working hard to secure a permanent deal, but interest from clubs like Chelsea could complicate matters.
The weekend got even better for Galatasaray as title rivals Besiktas dropped points, strengthening their position in the league.
