Popular Fuji musician Taye Currency has publicly apologized to his senior colleague, Pasuma, following comments made during a recent performance that stirred controversy on social media.
Taye Currency expressed disapproval of fans referring to Pasuma as his ‘father’ in the music industry, stating that while Pasuma is like an elder brother, he cannot be considered a father figure. This remark prompted backlash from fans and supporters.
In response, Taye Currency released a viral video apologizing to Pasuma and anyone offended by his statements. He explained, “Good day, everyone. My name is Alhaji Taye Currency. I want to greet our people, especially Pasuma’s supporters and Fuji music lovers. If my comments were misunderstood, I sincerely apologize. I never intended to insult Pasuma; he is my boss and mentor.”
He further emphasized his loyalty to Pasuma and urged fans to recognize their unity in the Fuji music scene. “Alhaji Alabi Pasuma is my boss. I apologize for any disrespect perceived; we are one family in this industry,” he stated in Yoruba, reaffirming his respect for Pasuma and his appreciation for the mentorship that has shaped his career.
