Chief Munir Balogun, father of Afrobeats star Wizkid, has addressed the ongoing rivalry between his son, Ayodeji Balogun (Wizkid), and fellow artist Davido. In a recent interview with Punch Newspapers, Chief Balogun shared his perspective on the tension between the two icons and their fanbases.
He expressed concern over the escalating fan rivalries, advising Wizkid to remain focused on his career and not be distracted by the negative comments from Davido’s supporters.
Chief Balogun stated, “I told my son not to listen to what Davido’s supporters are saying. They are only trying to cause trouble and distract him from his craft.”
He further emphasized that engaging in these disputes would detract from the international success and artistic focus that has solidified Wizkid’s global reputation.
