British-Nigerian rapper and singer, Oluwafisayo Isa, popularly known as Darkoo, has shared how coming out to her parents about her sexuality brought her a sense of relief and happiness.
In a recent appearance on *The Appointment Show* podcast hosted by Layo, the queer artist revealed that confiding in her mom about her sexuality was a transformative moment. “The day I told my mom, it felt like a massive weight off my shoulder… I’ve been happy since then,” she said.
Although the conversation was more emotional for her mother, whom she shares a closer bond with, Darkoo mentioned that her father was less engaged in the discussion. Nevertheless, she expressed that coming out to both parents was a liberating experience, allowing her to fully live her truth.
