Cesc Fabregas’s team made history by winning their first Serie A match in 23 years, beating Atalanta 3-2 at the Gewiss Stadium.

Como showed great determination and scored three goals in just 12 minutes, turning the game around against a tough Atalanta side.

“It feels amazing to lead this team to such a historic victory,” said Fabregas after the match on Tuesday night, highlighting how much it meant to the club.

Fabregas became the coach of Como in July 2024, just before their first Serie A season in 21 years. The club had announced his four-year contract, saying they were excited to have the former Spain midfielder take charge. Fabregas had been the assistant coach to Osian Roberts when Como won promotion last season.

The match, originally planned for Monday evening, was delayed because of heavy rain in Bergamo. Despite the delay, both coaches, Gian Piero Gasperini and Fabregas, stuck with their original starting lineups for the rescheduled match on Tuesday
