Nigerian singer Korede Bello has expressed concern that the influx of young artistes has led to a decline in the quality of music coming out of the country.
Speaking during an episode of Hip TV's *Trending* hosted by reality star KimOprah, the 28-year-old singer explained that younger artists often lack the life experience needed to create meaningful music. He argued that as artists achieve stardom at a younger age, the depth and quality of their music tend to suffer.
Bello stated, “When young artists blow up, the quality of their music starts to decline because they don’t have significant life experiences yet. They want to live large, and that’s what they sing about."
Citing veteran musicians like African China, Timaya, and Fela as examples, he emphasized that their songs reflected real-life struggles. However, Bello clarified that the younger generation shouldn’t be blamed, saying, "You can only give what you have."
