Nigerian-South African beauty queen, Chidimma Adetshina, recently opened up about the personal challenges she faced during her pageantry journey. In an interview on the Big Friday Show with Tacha from Big Brother Naija, Chidimma revealed her struggle with identity issues due to her dual citizenship.

When asked about her decision to pursue pageantry full-time, she shared her dream of becoming the next Miss Universe. “This is something I started recently, but I’ve had this dream since 2017. I’m really glad to have this platform to chase that goal,” she said.

Chidimma also discussed how she dealt with her identity crisis, saying, “It has been a long journey, very tough at times. I would cry myself to sleep, asking, ‘Why me?’ But I had to change my perspective and see the potential greatness that could come from these challenges.”

This revelation comes after Chidimma’s departure from the Miss South Africa pageant amidst allegations of fraud and identity theft involving her mother by the South African Home Office. Despite facing criticism in South Africa, she accepted an invitation from the Silverbird Group to compete in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant.
