Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen has decided against joining Chelsea this summer,
This decision is a setback for the London club, which has been eager to sign the Napoli striker.
Chelsea has been very active in the summer transfer market. They have signed Tosin Adarabioyo, Caleb Wiley, Omari Kellyman, Filip Jorgensen, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Renato Veiga. Additionally, they have strengthened their attack by bringing in Spain Under-19 international Marc Guiu from Barcelona. Despite Guiu's impressive pre-season, Chelsea still wants an experienced forward to compete with Nicolas Jackson.
Chelsea was strongly linked with Osimhen, who has a release clause of about £110 million. Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has insisted he won't accept any offer below that amount.
Corriere dello Sport reports that Osimhen is not interested in joining Chelsea, despite wanting to leave Napoli this summer. Arsenal was also interested in the Nigerian striker earlier but is now focusing on other attacking options.
