Recently appointed as the SSA for entertainment and tourism to the Ondo state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, VDM has sparked controversy with his outspoken critique.
Shortly after his appointment, VDM posted a video condemning the SSA position, calling it a meaningless role. He argued that these appointments are merely for show, giving the illusion of power to the youths while actually using them for damage control, preventing them from criticizing the government.
VDM stated, “This is a huge issue. The government hands out SSA positions to make young people believe they have influence, but in reality, it’s the most useless role they can offer. These youths think they’ve been given real power as senior special advisers. But what are they advising on? Have they ever had a meaningful conversation with their governor? Let all the SSAs in this country name one project they influenced. These positions are just a ploy to make youths feel involved in the government, without any real authority.”
