The fourth race of the first season of the X-Kart Race Series in Nigeria will take place at the Work and Play Arena on Abeokuta Express Way, Ogun State, on Saturday, August 3.
The latest competitor, Team Larry, has joined the lineup, bringing the total number of teams to twelve.
Team Larry's captain, Larry Bakare, expressed confidence in their chances despite joining mid-season. "Our racers are fresh and have learned from the other teams' weaknesses. We are better prepared," he said.
Adeoye Ojuoko, President of Work and Play, one of the series' promoters, highlighted the growing interest in the event. "The momentum and growth of the motorsports community have exceeded our expectations. New teams and sponsors are showing interest due to the professionalism we've brought to the event," he noted.
Despite a setback in the last race, Team X remains in the lead with 40 points from two victories in the first two races. Team Work and Play hopes to improve their ranking after missing a chance to overtake Team X in the third race. Team Harmony, a surprise entry in the third race, secured fourth place with their first win.
Other teams competing for the top spot include GN128, Metallic Crushers, Naija Gear Heads (A and B), Elizade, OYSBA, TOSETT, and FAME.
Each race in the series consists of 35-45 laps, held at the Work and Play Race Arena on Abeokuta-Shagamu Expressway and the Smokin Hills Golf Resort Racing tracks in Ilara Mokin, Ondo State.
