Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite is reportedly asking for a significant salary increase as Manchester United shows interest in signing him.
According to the Daily Mail, Branthwaite wants Everton to match the £160,000-a-week offer from Manchester United.
Everton has already rejected two bids from United, valuing Branthwaite at £70 million.
Despite having three years left on his current contract, worth around £70,000-a-week, Everton is willing to offer improved terms. However, negotiations may be delayed until the end of the transfer window.
Branthwaite is crucial to Everton's plans, and the club wants to retain him. Manchester United is still looking for defensive reinforcements and considers Branthwaite an ideal candidate. But United is hesitant to overspend, having already acquired defender Leny Yoro for £52 million.
