The Nigerian women's football team, the Super Falcons, are set to arrive in Bordeaux, France on Thursday night as they prepare for their first Olympic appearance in 16 years.
The team will depart from Spain and arrive in Bordeaux at 11 pm local time.
The Super Falcons have a tough group stage ahead, facing off against Brazil, Spain, and Japan.
This will be their fourth Olympic appearance, having previously competed in 2000, 2004, and 2008.
In 2004, the team made it to the quarterfinals, their best finish yet. They'll be looking to improve on that performance in Paris 2024.
Women's football has been part of the Olympics since 1996, and the Super Falcons have been a part of it since 2000. They're ready to take on the world's best teams and make Nigeria proud.
