Nollywood stars Nse Ikpe-Etim, Segun Arinze, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), and Mercy Aigbe headline the new film “Force Empire,” directed by filmmaker and actor Ndy Akan.
The film delves into the issue of sexual assault faced by women in the male-dominated Nigerian Police Force and workplaces at large.
“Force Empire” follows the story of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Mfon, portrayed by Nse Ikpe-Etim. DCP Mfon is on a mission to unmask the perpetrator who assaulted and humiliated her protégé, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Halima, played by emerging actress Enwongoabasi Ibom.
The trauma and fear experienced by Halima propel Mfon to expose the culprit and tackle the corruption within the force, despite strong opposition from her superiors.
Director Ndy Akan emphasized that “Force Empire” is a film centered on justice. He stated, “The film aims to recognize and encourage the exemplary police officers within the Nigeria Police Force while addressing the misconduct of a few that have damaged its reputation. It conveys a crucial message from the leadership: every officer, regardless of rank, will be held accountable for any criminal behavior.”
