Nigerian music stars brought Afrobeat and Afrobeats to the 2024 Glastonbury Music Festival, which drew an audience of over 200,000 attendees.
As one of the United Kingdom’s largest music events, Glastonbury attracts fans from all over the world. The 2024 festival, held from June 26 to 30, featured Nigerian artists Femi Kuti, Ayra Starr, and Burna Boy among its lineup of international stars.
Ayra Starr, who recently released her sophomore album, *The Year I Turned 21*, performed on June 28. She captivated the crowd with her hit singles, delivering an energetic performance of her 2022 hit "Sability."
Femi Kuti and his son, Made Kuti, delivered a memorable performance. This was before joining British band Coldplay on stage for a rendition of their collaboration Arabesque. Additionally, Burna Boy and British rapper, Little Simz also joined Coldplay on stage for the premiere of their unreleased collaboration We Pray.
